A couple of weeks ago my sister and I got the husbands together and we went on a date night. We were LONG overdue for a couples night out, and I’m not sure what took us so long considering we have a great time together. We have all been wanting to try BOMBA Tacos & Rum, so we quickly agreed on this being the place to go…and I can’t wait to go back!!
BOMBA is the sister restaurant to Paladar Latin Kitchen & Rum Bar. Paladar opened in Cleveland, OH in 2007 and has expanded to 5 other locations; Annapolis, MD; Gaithersburg, MD; Rockville, MD; Vienna, VA; and King of Prussia, PA. BOMBA has two locations in Akron, OH and Rocky River, OH, we visited the Akron location.
“BOMBA offers its guests the flavors and culture of Cuba, Central & South America, and the Caribbean. BOMBA adds sophistication, uniqueness, and fun with its Rum Bar that offers a best-in-class experience. More than 75 premium rums and signature rum cocktails are classically crafted from house recipes (website).”
We started our evening with some of the Housemade Salsa and Dip…
We ordered Fire-Roasted Salsa which was made with tomato, jalapeño, guajillo, cilantro, and the Guacamole (OMG this is the best Guacamole I have EVER tasted…I’m still craving more)
Instead of ordering individual meals we decided to get the 10 Tacos for $30
OMG they were the BEST EVER! We all had two a piece and each couple had a third taco to share together! My husband has a seafood allergy and they even made sure the ones that had fish or seafood were away from the taco’s that he picked!
We also had a couple of drinks, I had the Tropical Mango White Sangria and Darrick had the Jamaican Mule, I didn’t get a picture until after we started drinking.
Clearly, this could’ve been considered a girls night since we didn’t take a couple pic, the guys were busy talking sports with each other and we were snapping pictures and enjoying each others company!
Overall, I would put BOMBA at the top of my list for tacos! The flavor of all the food we tasted was AMAZING!!! I love the fact that even though my husband has a seafood/fish allergy that he was still able to enjoy just as much of the flavors as those that didn’t have an allergy (this isn’t always the case when we go to restaurants).
