A couple of weeks ago we went to Orlando, Florida for a vacation with Darrick’s side of our family. My brother in law was attending our church convention, and rented out a vacation house and invited everyone down to enjoy together! We stayed at the Windsor Island Resort.
The Windsor Island Resort was absolutely amazing! It is a newer gated community, and its located 20 minutes (give or take due to traffic to Disney). The Community amenities feature a Resort Pool, Children’s Water Park, Lazy River, Double Water Slide, Covered Bar, Rental Cabanas, 9-Hole Mini Golf Course, Fire Pit with view of Theme Park Fireworks, Sand Volleyball Court, and Cornhole Court.
From the outside the house looks very deceiving!! But when you walk in it was absolutely stunning! The home features 8 bedrooms (Owners Suite, and another bedroom were located on the first floor, and 6 bedrooms upstairs) and 6 bathrooms and featured a screen enclosed pool and covered lanai. What I loved was the open kitchen and gathering room!
I am a little weird and I pay attention to builders of homes because its always something I have been interested in. I am very familiar with Pulte built homes. The homes in the community are Pulte built. The home we stayed in was the Baymont home design, and had an open layout that was perfect!
This is the third vacation home that we have stayed in together. Darrick and I stayed in a bedroom with a Mauve colored theme! The bed was a queen size bed, and we had our own bathroom inside of our room!
Emma stayed in the Frozen themed room! She absolutely LOVED her room! As you can see from the pic, she made herself at home immediately! She slept in one bed and her American Doll occupied the other bed! Often times when we couldn’t find her or hadn’t seen her in a while she was enjoying her bedroom!
DJ shared a room with my Sister-in-Law Godson. They enjoyed their Marvel themed room as well! Again, he made himself at home before I could get good pictures!
Another favorite area of mine in the home was the second story gathering room! I didn’t sit in here, but I just admired the size of the room and having the option to chill out and watch TV upstairs in such a spacious loft! The picture doesn’t do it justice, it was HUGE!
The garage had been converted into a game room! The kids LOVED it! And the adults too!
We were the last to arrive at the house, so I didn’t get pictures of everyone’s room because they were all moved in and I didn’t want to invade anyone’s personal space.
As I stated we have stayed in a few vacation homes, and each time there are specific things that we look for when finding them! Below I am sharing what we look for in our vacation homes!
What to look for when renting a vacation home…
ALWAYS check reviews, ASK for reviews if none are posted publicly
If you are going with more than your immediate family, make sure everyone has their own bathrooms (this area of the house does not need to be shared)!
Make sure there are enough bedrooms for everyone
Ask the person leasing the property what necessities are provided (i.e. trash bags, paper towels, towels, dishwasher tabs, utensils, cookware) in previous houses this was all provided but it was not at this one and we didn’t find out until we got there!
Oh I can’t forget the clubhouse!
The Windsor Island Resort clubhouse was very nice! My family only made it there one time, and early in the morning was the best time to get in and have a chance to truly enjoy everything! We were planning to go back to go Put Put but we had so many things we were trying to see.
