2. Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh
“The Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh is a hands-on interactive children’s museum in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It is in the Allegheny Center neighborhood in Pittsburgh’s Northside (Google)”
The Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh was our first experience with a Children’s Museum, and it did NOT let us down! We have been about 4-5 times over the years, and the kids love it each time! At the time of one of our visits, the featured exhibits was Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, and in researching the current exhibits I see that it is coming back!
There are temporary exhibits, and permanent exhibits to enjoy! One of the permanent exhibits the kids loved was the “Waterplay” exhibit!
3. PNC Park for a Baseball Game
Now, let me make this disclaimer before talking about any sports team in Pittsburgh (LOL), we are Cleveland Fans of EVERYTHING! BUT, you cannot deny how beautiful PNC Park is!
“PNC Park, opened in spring 2001, is an intimate, classic-style ballpark that embraces the progressiveness of Pittsburgh while saluting the spirit of early ballpark originals. Its location along the shore of the Allegheny River takes advantage of scenic vistas of the downtown skyline and riverfront, creating an exciting and dramatic urban sports venue (website).”
During our visit, we sat in the “All You Can Eat Seats” which were divine! But from research those seats were eliminated in 2018!
PNC Park Fan Experience is unmatched…check out some of the enhancements that were recently made! We hope to get to a game this summer! The new Nachorita Bar is definitely calling my name!!
The Carnegie Science Center is one of the four Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It is located in the Chateau neighborhood. It is located across the street from Heinz Field. Visit Pittsburgh’s best attraction and the most-visited museum, with four floors of interactive exhibits.
Darrick and I put some x-rays together! Let me just say, we will keep our current jobs because we would have an UPSET patient if we had to put them back together!
5. Senator John Heinz History Museum
Years ago when the kids were little we stayed across the parking lot from the Heinz History Museum, we said one day we would come back to visit because we didn’t have time at that particular visit! Last year, we had the chance to visit, and this place is absolutely AMAZING!!!
“Kennywood is an amusement park located in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania, just southeast of Pittsburgh. The park first opened on May 30, 1899, as a trolley park attraction at the end of the Mellon family’s Monongahela Street Railway (Google).”
Kennywood Park is the perfect size Amusement Park! Especially for families that have younger children, their Kiddiland was perfect! But as they move into the larger rides, it provides the perfect transition rides in my opinion! We arrived pretty early so it was the perfect time to avoid the lines!
Two other attractions for Family Fun in Pittsburgh, PA and see the city are the Incline Rides (one day get my nerve up and get over my fears so I can go on the incline)!
There are so many reasons to Visit Pittsburgh, and have some Family Fun in the city! So much to see and do in the city, and I’m sure some things that I have left off the list! These are some of our favorites over the years! I always share that from the start of my relationship with my husband when he first took me to Pittsburgh, and was the city we got engaged in, and now one that we visit with our children! It holds a special place in my heart!
