Superbowl in my family is usually celebrated as a holiday! We go all out no matter who is playing in the game. The celebration is usually held at my parent’s house and we stay until the 3rd quarter because of the kids, however, we are known to take “Superbowl Monday” off, and in that case, we stay for the enter game!
This year will be a little different since COVID, we aren’t taking any chances on getting together! We are all planning our own parties at our own homes, and I’m sure we will talk via FaceTime multiple times through the night! I can’t say that I am happy about it because, in all honesty, I’m not…I miss my family! If you knew how we celebrated the Superbowl in years past you would totally my feelings. We also celebrate my daughter’s birthday because she was born on Superbowl Weekend and although we celebrate the game, it doubles as her birthday celebration with the family that she absolutely LOVES!!!
Since we aren’t going to my parents’ house that means that I am in charge of my own Superbowl menu! Usually, I either bring a dip or dessert to my parents’ house and my mom takes care of the rest! If you’re like me and you’re creating your own recipe…and it may be a little last minute, but we will get it done!
