Growing up with a father that was from the Birthplace of Mardi Gras (Mobile, Alabama), I was probably the only one out of my friends that knew all about the celebration but had never physically gone to one of the celebrations. It’s still on my bucket list of events to travel for!
Although, we were in Cleveland my father made sure we had the proper meal for Fat Tuesday, and as I got older I became intrigued by the desserts that are made for Mardi Gras. If you do a little research you can find the entire story of the colors of Mardi Gras, but I will share the “Cliff Notes: Purple means justice, green means faith, and gold means power.”
Now anyone who knows about Mardi Gras knows that it’s all about the parades and food! From the Jambalaya to the King Cake!!
