This post is brought to you by our sponsor, “Always Eat After 7 PM”. The opinions expressed below are my own.
Over the last 8 years, I have put on quite a bit of weight! Whew! That was a lot to just type that out! And I’m saying 8 years because I can target where that weight has come from, but let’s be real its probably been since I graduated from high school 18 years ago (after I stopped playing Volleyball). My eating habits in college weren’t the best, but after graduating I probably have maintained my weight. After having children is when I noticed the biggest jump! Food has been my comfort for the last 8 years! After having my daughter, and she was in the NICU for 50 days, I ate to comfort myself. Two years later I had twins and one passed away, and food was a comfort for my husband and me. We put weight on together!
Here we are almost 6 years after the death of our son and we have to get a handle on this weight situation…FAST! For the last couple of years, my goal has been to get my health under control. As a mom, I tend to focus on everyone but myself. I make appointments, and follow up for everyone except myself. This year I vowed to take better care of myself. Prior to the pandemic, I had an appointment with my Endocrinologist. And the gist of that appointment was to lose weight! PERIOD! In order to get a handle on my symptoms, and avoid becoming a diabetic I need to lose weight. I took that information to heart and between January and February, I was down close to 15lbs. Then the pandemic hit and it HIT HARD!!! We stocked our house, and within that haul, for stocking our home we added a bunch of junk food. My pandemic “comfort” snack was Soft & Chewy Chocolate Chips!
Now, we are 10 weeks into the quarantine/pandemic and I’m still working from home. I am also working with my children with school, and trying to find my way goal this year of working on myself.
One thing that I love is Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks—While Burning Fat Overnight by Joel Marion follows a lot of the same guidance I received from my Endocrinologist! She gave me a few lists of foods to increase in my diet, and the chart from the book almost matched identically! Always Eat After 7 PM debunks popular diet myths and offers an easy-to-follow diet that accelerates fat-burning and allows you to indulge in your most intense food cravings: Eating the majority of your calories at night. –Joel Marion
“Always Eat After 7 pm is a three-phase program that teaches you how to lose big by strategically eating big when you are naturally hungriest—in the evening. It’s all about making strategic and smart food swaps, and you can still eat your favorite foods.”
Years ago when I was in college I trained myself not to eat after 7/8pm. It just wasn’t healthy for me! Since I am now working closer to home (well, when I was going to work), I try to sit down to eat around 5:30/6:00. I’ve tried other diets and although they weren’t super restrictive it left me a lot of areas to “cheat” and well at the time I did grasp that I was only cheating myself and not the diet.
At the beginning of Always Eat After 7PM there is a chart that matches this diet up against other popular diets and you really have a chance to look to see what you will be able to eat, such as; carbs, fruit, dairy, and snacks. This chart truly helped me to see if this diet was something for me or not.
