This is not a Sponsored Post, I won tickets through a giveaway!
If you’ve been following me on Instagram you know that a couple of weeks ago we took a quick “day-trip” to Columbus to visit LEGOLAND Discovery Center for DJ’s Birthday. I’ve been away from blogging for a couple of weeks, but I am trying to get back in the swing of things. I jumped in headfirst with my new job, that it hasn’t left much time for anything else. However, DJ’s birthday was non-negotiable, we knew we had to do something and it had to be BIG!
A while back one of DJ’s classmates went to LEGOLAND on one of the breaks during the school year. Ever since then, DJ has been asking to go. What he didn’t know is that I won a giveaway and I’ve had tickets for a while now, we have just been waiting for the best time to go.
What better time to go than for a Birthday!
We drove down on a Saturday morning and we came back the same day!
Located in the heart of Easton Town Center, LEGOLAND Discovery Center Columbus is the ultimate indoor LEGO playground with 2 rides, 10 LEGO build & play zones, and a 4D cinema & much more!
We had a great time! What I loved is we had a chance to enjoy as a family, from the first ride as we entered to playing with LEGO’s with the kids. Emma held me hostage for about an hour playing in the LEGO Friends area! She didn’t want anyone else to play with her…just she and I!
Daddy (Darrick) and DJ went to the jungle gym. There were quite a few kids playing in that area and DJ wanted all parts of that so he played for a while in that area. He even made a couple of friends. He played so much he actually got a little overheated so Darrick had him come build with us in the LEGO Friends area! We all played there for a while together.
The next part of the Discovery Center was the movie, and since Emma and DJ have seen the movies they didn’t want to sit and watch. They finished up by taking a trip to the LEGO Store!
LEGOLAND Discovery Center is the perfect location for a playdate!
The play area is the perfect size to watch your child play but give them a little freedom! Yes, I’m that mom that keeps a TIGHT watch on my little ones!
The environment is controlled so you can find a seat and watch your child run around or you can join in the fun and create your own LEGO creation! We did both! I mean how can you be around LEGO’s and not want to join in the fun! At one point we were all building together!
If you’re not from Columbus and want to stay overnight the location is AWESOME! Nearby you can find restaurants and lodging! Of course, our children were hungry afterward so we walked to a restaurant closeby! Now, if this is a random playdate you may not do all of this but if you want to the option is available!
We can’t wait to take a trip to one of the larger LEGOLAND Parks, but until then we are only two hours from the Discovery Center and I know we will be back for many, many trips!
