On March 23, 2018, we experienced our first CAVS game as a family! It was Emma and DJ’s first game, and what an experience it was. I have been to a couple of games with my parents (when I was much younger), with friends in my teenage years, and with Darrick when we got together (and same for Darrick)…but we had never been to a game with our children.
One of my favorite parts of going to events at The Q are the employees. They make attending events so awesome, the customer service is AMAZING! When we arrived we were greeted and told to take the kids to Customer Service to pick up their First Game Badges! Once we got them, you couldn’t tell Emma and DJ that they weren’t official! HA!
Since we are very familiar with The Q, our next stop was Wine and Gold Nation Headquarters…
Wine & Gold Nation gives children a chance to get tatted up (okay temporary CAVS tattoos) spray-on hair color, make signs and play games to win prizes! There is also a chance to see up close what comes in the Wine & Gold Membership Boxes!
Maybe I am a little biased but I am LOVING the black boxes!! I love the CAVS black jerseys and the membership boxes fall right in line with the jerseys!
Interested in learning about the CAVS Wine and Gold Nation
Taking our children and seeing their faces light up as if we’re at Disney World was EVERYTHING! They are still talking about the game like we went yesterday!
Being a CAVS Wine & Gold Ambassador, we got a chance to go on the floor and slap hands with the players as they came in! The picture above is DJ watching JR Smith warm up, he was so chilled and I think it honestly was due to being in shock! He didn’t really talk to us until we got to our seats after the game started!
It was hard trying to get pics and be in the moment of seeing the players come in! I think my adrenaline was flowing like I was getting ready to play!
Backstory: Being up close during a game was EVERYTHING! Not only for my children and husband but for me! I was the girl that got up in the morning and would watch Sportscenter until it was time to go to school. I knew about all the sports! My mom would try to get me to watch cartoons or more girly shows but I was all about the sports. On Sunday’s after church, I was planted in front of the TV watching either Basketball, Football or Baseball! And I am still that way now! I am so THANKFUL that blogging has brought my family and myself the opportunities to go to these events!
Now its time to head to the Playoffs! Game 1 didn’t go our way, so we are ready for Game 2…I’m sure the CAVS are ready to make a come back!!
