Earlier this month, Darrick and I had a chance to have a staycation at a local hotel in Cleveland. We stayed at the Hilton Downtown Cleveland! We were originally there for my job’s Holiday Party and we knew we would stay the night, but after a conversation about not having a chance to get away “just the two of us” this year we decided to stay the entire weekend! And I am so glad we did!!!
There were a few things that stood out to me while we stayed there that I definitely wanted to share as to why others would love to stay at the Hilton Downtown Cleveland…
Service…when we arrived at the Hilton Downtown Cleveland it was in the middle of rush hour. Our room was ready early, and we were immediately greeted when we arrived at the loading area. From the valet to the bellhop everyone was super nice and very helpful!
Location…The Hilton Downtown Cleveland is connected to the Cleveland Convention Center and convenient to Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Quicken Loans Arena, and other local attractions. Darrick and I walked from the hotel to JACK Cleveland Casino for breakfast, then walked around and explored as if we were tourists in the city!
And if you simply had NO DESIRE to leave the hotel…there are many dining options within the hotel!
View of the City…connected to the Cleveland Convention Center and convenient to Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Quicken Loans Arena.Usually, when we stay in hotels I close the blinds at nighttime, however, the view from the 20th floor was AMAZING! We never closed our blinds, we enjoyed the night lights throughout the evening and waking up to the son the next morning. The side of the hotel we stayed over faced the East Side of Downtown, but I loved sitting there and watching the city stop at night and come back to life in the morning.
Pieces of Cleveland in ALL of the Details…One thing to know is if you ever meet someone from Cleveland they are proud of their city! From the decor in our rooms to the Noshery (located in the lobby), there are items throughout the hotel of which will remind you of what city you are in and share the same pride with those that are not from our city.
Our room had a mural of the Westside Market, which we both loved. I can’t wait to go back to stay in the “Rock and Roll Suite”
Cleanliness…I mean there was no short on the cleanliness of the Hilton Downtown Cleveland! I knew this was something that I shouldn’t have had to check, but I did because you can never be too sure. From top to bottom, the room, bar and banquet hall that the Christmas Gala was held in was in immaculate condition. We even stopped into the Noshery, our last night there and when we walked in there was someone cleaning in there as well as when we stopped at the pool there was a VERY friendly person cleaning in that area as well.
Technology…being a blogger I usually visit the Business Center at least ONCE! Usually, I bring my MacBook and iPad with me, but this time I only had my phone! I knew we were coming for a romantic trip and I knew if I brought more technology with me that at some point that would consume some of our time. I kept track of everything via my phone but there was one thing I couldn’t do so after Darrick and I got back to the hotel Saturday afternoon we stopped by the Business Center. What I loved is no matter what system you used there were two computers for each system. Darrick was able to sit next to me and watch TV while I worked for about 30 minutes.
This was the best in the city getaway that Darrick and I could’ve asked for! Earlier this year we planned to get away around our 5th Anniversary, but we didn’t get a chance to go because Emma and DJ both had surgery during the summer in close proximity to our anniversary date. So I was glad that we didn’t let the entire year go by without taking a weekend to ourselves. We loved everything about our stay at the Hilton Downtown Cleveland! We have been talking about coming back just the two of us, and possibly a stay with the kids (they do really well in hotels…they love them as much as us)!
