I received this book in exchange for a review. All thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.
“An exclusive design, one God refined, you’re a perfectly crafted one of a kind.
‘Cause when God made you, somehow God knew that the world needed someone exactly like you”
My daughter is literally one of the strongest people I know. I know I may sound a little biased, but seeing her thrive after being in the NICU for 50 days when she was born, to having multiple Cleft Lip and Palate surgeries. She takes everything in stride and overcomes the odds. I remember being in speech therapy and in school conferences and them telling us that she may need a device to communicate…to her now being a chatty little girl (when she wants to be)!
I can’t help but look at her and Thank God multiple times!!! When God Made Her…he knew that we could LOVE and handle all she came with!!
Yes, I am that emotional Mama that got all in her feeling while reading this book to my daughter. I actually teared up a couple of times because I loved the words. One of my biggest fears is Emma being teased for being born with a Cleft Lip and Palate…however, When God Made Her he knew she would be a strong little girl and could handle the special smile she was born with.
Lately, I have noticed the love for reading that Emma has. She always has a book in her hands and is looking through the pictures and talking out loud. I think she maybe making up her own stories since she isn’t reading yet.
When I first showed Emma When God Made You she was excited. Since she has been wearing her hair in twists she loved the fact that the picture of the little girl’s hair was similar to her hair. I let her read the book then we read it together and we both enjoyed it (I may have enjoyed it a little bit more)!
When God Made You was written by Matthew Paul Turner and the illustrations were created by New York Times bestselling author and illustrator, David Catrow. The message of this book was AWESOME; it celebrates God’s love and passion for every child and their characteristics, personalities, talents and how they’re are a blessing to the world.
