Blogging has been pretty slow lately, on my part! This post is a collection of all the things we have been up to in the last month or so! I feel like once August got here, everything was a whirlwind! The month never slowed down. I worked a lot in August during our “rush” season, since I work at a College back to school time it SUPER busy. Now it’s September and I am still trying to catch up with everything that I intended on doing in August. This post is everything we’ve had going on in the last couple of weeks!
Okay, for starters I decided to dye my hair black! I used to be black a couple of years ago, I went lighter this summer but as always I got bored. However, I went dark again and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! This is the only picture from getting it straightened a couple of weeks ago, and I also realized that I need to take more pictures of myself! I have pictures of everyone else but myself!
School has started back for Emma and getting back into daily routine has been a challenge. I briefly spoke about it at the end of last year but we decided to have Emma do another year of Pre-K. She has a new teacher and I already like what I am seeing from the teacher and from Emma! What I am seeing in Emma (and it’s only the 3rd week) is what I should’ve been seeing last year. She is more engaged in learning and sharing what she is learning at home! Also when I pull out work books or anything educational she is READY!!!
This week DJ had his Preschool Evaluation since he will be 3-years-old next month it’s time to get the Little Man into school. Although I love him being home with my parents during the day, I have noticed that he has started to ask to watch the news in the morning instead of their morning cartoons…it’s time to be around other children! LOL! If he gets into the same program as Emma he will be in school 4 days a week.
At the evaluation they don’t tell you much, however, he came back to me all smiles so I take it as a win! Now we wait!
Emma got her first big girl hair cut a couple of weeks ago…we went to visit my friend Kelly and she trimmed Emma up! Now we are able to wear curls out and she loves it! She looks like such a big girl!
This isn’t the best picture but you can see the definition of her curls now! Whereas before when I tried to let her wear her curls out it turned into a frizzy fro! I thought about taking her to the hair salon but I think that would’ve been a sensory overload right now, so this was perfect! We will work up to her getting her first hair shop experience!
Darrick and I are hoping to move soon, the majority of our time has been spent getting out finances together and preparing for our big move! We have a couple more items to purchase, but we have really done well on a budget. A few weeks back we started on the Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University at our church, its a 9-Week Course on getting your finances on track. If you are familiar with the program, we have started saving our Emergency Fund and also paid bills down!
We haven’t been able to make it to the last couple of classes, due to the schedule changing once school started back but we have been faithful to the practices and viewing the lessons online! Darrick and I have become more aware of our spending, making sure we are telling our money where to go rather than trying to figure it out after the fact (lesson from one of our classes).
Pics from the Last Days of Summer…
We’ve been busy but I am not complaining! It’s been a good busy! This Summer has been a fun ride, but I must admit I am looking forward to Fall and the Holidays coming up.
I am trying to get back to my regular posting and I have like 2 weeks of posts lined up already!
Please stick around and as always THANK YOU for reading The Green Eyed Lady Blog!!!
How was your Summer?
Even though Summer “technically”isn’t over, how have you been spending the last days of Summer?
