Growing up I have always had issues with my cycle, and to this day I still have those same issues with my cycle. After having my daughter I was regular but after the twins my cycle went back to being inconsistent. I never knew when it was going to come, besides some of the pre-symptoms that you have. However, sometimes those symptoms would come but the cycle would never come. I was always on Birth Control to regulate my cycle. With all of these symptoms going on I just knew that when it came time for me to have children I would have problems. It had even been suggested to me to have the test done to make sure I could have children, but I couldn’t bear the thought of being told that I wouldn’t be able to have children so I said when that time comes we would try and go from there.
When I found out I was pregnant with daughter I was TOTALLY shocked! People laugh because they take that as me not knowing how it happened, but that’s not what I mean. When I got pregnant I was on birth control and I had lived all my life with the thought in the back in my head that I may not be able to conceive.
About a year after our daughter was born, my husband and I started having the discussions about having more children. Although, we had one I still felt some anxiety about being able to conceive again. I started tracking my cycle and using different apps on my phone and iPad about the best days to conceive and see if they matched. Since we didn’t have any issues conceiving our daughter, I thought the dates and apps would help increase our chances of getting pregnant naturally.
Then again about a year later, I found out I was pregnant. However, this pregnancy was very different from my first one and sadly it ended in a very early miscarriage. I felt at this time I was adding pressure to myself to get pregnant, and putting pressure on my husband and I. I became obsessed with looking at the apps and thinking about cycle dates. My husband was the one that told me to get rid of all of that and when it happens, it will happens…and if it takes longer then we will go to the doctor to make sure everything was okay.
