As the school year comes to an end, I know families are looking for fun family activities to participate in this summer. If you’re searching for free family activities in and around Cleveland, you’re totally in luck!
Cleveland is the city offers something for everyone, and I know I am missing so many free activities but here are 4 activities get your summer activity list started!
Take a Hike Heritage Tours
Looking for a fun way to explore downtown Cleveland while learning more about city history? Take a Hike Heritage Tours offers five guided tours of Cleveland neighborhoods. The free tours cover the Gateway District, Warehouse District, Playhouse Square, Canal Basin Park and the Civic Center.
Each tour lasts about 90 minutes and features actors who do a great job of playing notable people from the past.
Cleveland Metroparks Zoo’s Free Mondays
If you live in Cuyahoga County or Hinckley Township, you’re eligible for free admission at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo on any non-holiday Monday. Your family will have the chance to explore the zoo and many of its exhibits, interacting face-to-face with plants and animals from around the world.
Rockefeller Park Greenhouse
Rockefeller Park Greenhouse features stunning floral arrangements that showcase plants both native to the Cleveland area and beyond. Walking through the greenhouse is free. In addition, the Greenhouse staff hosts free events for families, typically when the holidays roll around.
Stearns Homestead
Stearns Homestead is a working educational farm in Parma, Ohio. There are several museum houses on the property, displaying antique items that give your family a glimpse into what life was like in the early 1900s. There are also over 50 farm animals living on the farm that your kids are sure to love! They can even feed them.
Exploring the museum houses and farm is free for everyone. Animal feed can be purchased for $1 a bag.
