Last weekend was just what we needed, a night away at Castaway Bay. If you have never heard of Castaway Bay, its Cedar Point’s year-round indoor waterpark resort.
This is our second time being invited to Castaway Bay, and knowing in advance what I was in store for I couldn’t wait to get there Saturday morning! Emma was only 1 years old the last time we went, and DJ wasn’t born yet. I knew they would have a great time together!
I didn’t realize until this year that going away for Spring Break was a “family thing.” When I think of Spring Break I usually think about going on a trip with friends while I was in college. However, this year we started my daughters’ Spring Break by going to Castaway Bay and enjoying a couple of days off too. I didn’t realize how much we needed this break…
#1 Break from Cold Weather…in Cleveland there is still a chance its cold outside during spring break, however, going to an indoor resort you don’t have to worry about the weather. Its always warm inside! It may be 30 or 40 degrees outside but inside its always in the 80’s…Perfect for Swimming!
#2 Bright Decor Reminds You of Summer…I love the decor of the resort. The bright colors have a calmness to them, and you honestly forget that you are still in Ohio.
#3 More Activities…As with most resorts swimming it not the only activity. When we arrived the front dest attendant gave me a list of all the activities we could participate in as a family. We went swimming for a couple of hours changed our clothes, ate dinner then enjoyed some of the resort activities.
We met Snoopy in the Lobby, decorated cookies, went to Karaoke and attended a dance party.
Oh and who could forget the kiddie casino as I call it…the Arcade! Emma and DJ LOVED the Arcade! But it wasn’t just the kids that loved it, Darrick and I had a great time racing each other in racing-car game. The kids picked a partner and we did the driving, although they thought they were doing the driving! HA! We had a great time!
#4 Dinner…There are multiple food options at Castaway Bay; Big Daddy’s Snack Shack, Ebb & Eddy’s, Mango Mikes, Room Service or Quaker Steak & Lube. We opted for Quaker Steak since we haven’t had it in a while.
And finally we ended the night…full with sleepy babies!
