Who doesn’t want to save more money? You can ask pretty much anyone and they will likely tell you that they can benefit from more money. But how do you get more money? How can you save when you already feel like you’re getting by on too little? What can you do to save when you are on a fixed income? It might not sound easy but there are many little ways you can save here and there and if you put your time and attention to it, you can make it all add up.
Darrick and I have been together since 2009, and once we knew we were going to get married we combined our money. Together we were doing VERY good financially. It wasn’t until we started having children that we had to learn to better manage our money and learn better ways of saving, and some things had to simply be cut out!
Having a special-needs child we learned immediately that we need to always be on a mission to save money! In the first couple of years there were MANY unexpected expenses, and good thing we have a good support system because many times they had to help us during those times, because I wasn’t working full-time, and at one point blogging was my only income.
It hasn’t been an easy task, but I finally feel like we are on the right path to saving.
As with anything I have learned that if you start with small changes, they can make a great impact overall.
Here are three great ideas to help you save money each week:
- Use loyalty and discount cards – When you have store cards or other loyalty and discount cards, you can save money every week on things you need to purchase or spend on.
- Use coupon and cash back apps – There are many apps out there today that help you save money on the things you buy and also get cash back on your purchases.
- Find ways to reduce bills – Are there credit cards you can consolidate? Are there ways you can reduce the electric bill, or save on the cable bill (cutting cable altogether)?
