One of my goals this year was to get back to feeling myself, feeling pretty again! No matter what size I am I vowed to myself to get back to putting on makeup, and fixing myself up no matter the occasion! No one ever shares how hard it is to get back to feeling yourself after having children, its like you are in a world and outside of being a mom, you aren’t sure what you are doing. As moms we focus so much on our families that we often put ourselves on the back burner!
However, this year will be different for me! I will take more pride in my clothes and get back to how I look and felt prior to becoming a Mama!
Last year nephew’s best-friend asked him to be her escort for a Cotillion she was participating in. I immediately was excited for him, but then the thoughts of what I was going to wear crossed my mind and I soon became discouraged. Formal wear has NEVER been my favorite! However, I knew I didn’t have a choice so I immediately started looking…
I knew I wanted something black because I LOVE black! I could wear it everyday and never get tired of it! I also knew that I wanted something dressy that I could wear again, Im all about being able to wear something more than once.
I found the Tara Black Baggy Dress from Curvaceous Boutique and immediately fell in love…
The best part about the dress is that it has POCKETS!!!! OMG I love a dress with pockets!
I wore Marc Fisher “Factor 2” Dress Heels Black Shoes! I absolutely LOVED them!
The picture doesn’t do it any justice…this shoe is absolutely amazing!! I can’t wait to wear it again!
I found my necklace on Poshmark…I talked about my love for Poshmark on the blog before!
It was perfect! It had a gold base and rose gold flowers mixed with other colors. I also carried a gold clutch.
Although, I was initially dreading finding something to wear to this formal event, I’m glad that I really stepped my game up to make myself feel pretty! I had a lot of fun…and the look on my husband’s face when I got dressed made it even better! He tells me daily that I am beautiful (literally) but it felt good to get all dolled up and hear him say it!
What have you done lately to make yourself feel pretty?
