Entertaining children around Christmas time might seem like a simple thing to do but nothing could be further from the truth. Think it over. They are waiting on Christmas presents, candy and all kinds of things that are just out of reach. These things get them hyper and excited and if you have nothing to fulfill that with, boredom is inevitable. As parents, we need to have Christmas activities ready to go at all times to keep them entertained.
Here are four Christmas activities that will do the job nicely:
Holiday Treasure Hunt
This simple bit of fun is particularly effective because you can adjust it to your situation and age group. For the younger kids, you can bury, hide and place Christmas ornaments throughout a particular area and let them have a contest to find them all. Older kids can enjoy hunting for various things like CDs, change, gift cards or whatever works best.
Go Christmas Caroling
Every kid loves to sing Christmas carols and would be wildly entertained doing so for a crowd.
Play Holiday Dress up
If you have old clothes and Christmas decorations on hand, let the kids go holiday wild and create new and exciting outfits. A few bows, ornaments and a bit of wrapping paper can be extremely entertaining with a box of old clothes.
Musical Chairs with Christmas Carols
While turning your kids loose with some of your best chairs is probably not advised, you can play this game another way. Make holiday colored square mats for them to try to sit on first instead. This classic game will keep them entertained for hours.
