Halloween being on a Monday is really throwing a Monkey Wrench into how we like to celebrate! HA!
This year we are pretty set on the fact that we wont be Trick-or-Treating on the actual day. I can’t start my week off like that with the kids, it will totally throw everything off. Our usual Halloween routine is going to Emma’s party at school then taking the kids trick-or-treating at my sisters job (which I am going to miss)…now that I am working it will be hard to get the day off to take the kids (you know that part about really missing being on your own schedule when you are no longer a full-time stay at home mom)!
Actually there are a lot of places having events for the children to come to this weekend to celebrate Halloween, so we may take our children to something like that instead of nixing it altogether. But Im not opposed to staying in the house and creating it ourselves! This year we originally planned to stay home, order pizza and do some fun Halloween inspired activities…Bob for Apples, some sort of craft, maybe decorate our pumpkins…actually this still doesn’t sound like a bad idea!
We already have a TON of goodies from Gourmet Gift Baskets!
Last week I received this package in the mail…
Haunted House Halloween Gift Tower
Retails for $39.99
The boxes were so pretty that I didn’t want to disturb it! I just wanted them to sit out and be pretty! However, there was a little munchkin that wouldn’t let it be a “pretty set of boxes on the table”…she HAD to see what was on the inside!
Emma and I sat and talked about the outside of the box and I tried to hold her off from opening it as long as I could! At this particular point DJ wanted no parts of Halloween so we had fun opening the box together! We sat on the kitchen floor and talked about the candy and she admired the boxes. The boxes are nice and sturdy that I am probably going to wrap them up and use them for decorations next year!
One of the things I LOVED about this box from Gourmet Gift Baskets is the fact that you received EXACTLY what you saw on the picture online!
Before we told the boys (Husband and DJ) we opened the box…we sat and admired everything after we scattered it all around! And we may or may not have snuck in a few pieces of candy!
This particular basket is the:
Haunted House Halloween Gift Basket
Ingredients…
(3) Tootsie Roll Midgees – Long lasting candy chews that are packed with cocoa taste and subtle fruit flavors.
· (3) Super Bubble Gum –Iconic pink bubble gum that offers hours of endless bubbles.
· (3) Jawbreakers – assorted – Individually wrapped hard candies that explode with sweet fruit flavors.
· (3) Atomic Fireballs – Round hard candies that erupt with a bold cinnamon taste.
· (3) Smarties – assorted flavors– Bite-sized tablet candies that offer the perfect combination of tart and sweet flavors.
· Mixed Candy – An assortment of classic candies in a manageable mini size.
· Buffalo Popcorn by KingOfPOP.com – Handcrafted gourmet popcorn that’s coated in fiery buffalo flavor.
· Confetti Popcorn by KingOfPOP.com – Crisp freshly made popcorn that’s sealed inside colorful fruit-infused candy shells.
I think my favorite part of the box was the Chocolate Box! Its funny because we opened the box the night we received it, then closed it up and set it in front of the fireplace for decoration. One night I was craving chocolate, I opened it up and Darrick and I wiped the Chocolate OUT! We had to come back the next day when the kids weren’t paying attention and replenish the supply…they’ve been watching the boxes like a HAWK! HA!
The Haunted House Halloween Gift Basket was a great alternative to having Halloween candy than going trick-or-treating! However, Gourmet Gift Baskets has all types of baskets for any occasion!
We loved it and the kids loved it!!
