Confession: I have a love for bags…any kind of bags; purses, totes, cosmetic cases, diaper bags, overnight bags, weekend bags, cooler bags, monogrammed bags, recyclable shopping bags…ANY TYPE of bag!
This obsession probably was passed down genetically from my grandmother, to my mom (she’s the same), to my sister and I!
Don’t let one of us see each other with a new bag…we need all the details; where did you get it, how much did it cost, why didn’t you buy one for everyone, did they have any left, did it come in other colors…you know the usual questions!
Getting back into the working world, and seeing all the ladies and their bags has sparked my love all over again! While I was a SAHM many of bags that I carried had to be “family friendly” because I would have diapers, snacks, wipes and all the needs for my family.
However, now I’m interested in bags for myself! While I know I will probably still have a toy or diaper in my purse on a regular occasion, I still want something for ME!!!
My latest obsession is POSHMARK…
Since we are getting our life back in order with having two incomes, instead of heading straight to the store I actually check on Poshmark for bags that I like at a discounted rate!
Have you heard of Poshmark?
Poshmark is an online consignment shop! People come together to buy and sell clothing and accessories from each other. You can buy and sell with confidence and ease! Some have boutiques set up and others just sell a few items out of their “closets”…items are new or gently used. Prices can be up to 70 percent off retail – and you can shop from your smartphone or on the web.
List an item for sale in less than 60 seconds by iPhone, iPad, or Android app.

I personally love Poshmark and I have a few rules that I stick to in my personal shopping…
Designer Purses…I try not to pay more than $100 on Poshmark UNLESS I know its a great deal that I can’t pass up and its a NWT (new with tags) item!
Counter Offer…most recently I have started counter offering people on items. No Im not trying to “low ball” someone BUT if I feel that they are over priced, then I may ask see if they sell it for a couple of dollars lower than the price.
This method has worked in my favor with the last item I purchased. I saw in a conversation that the seller would sell an item for $8 so I went in and “counter offered” for $7 and she sold it to me…fastest buy EVER!!! However, it doesn’t always work…I got in a counter offer war with someone over an umbrella, but she never gave in so I just didn’t buy it…simple right! I did a little more searching and found the same umbrella for the amount I wanted it at!!!
Factor in Shipping…With Poshmark all items come with a $5.95 shipping fee (its expedited shipping)…the items come really fast, BUT when shopping I try to factor in this amount into my budget of what I would like to spend.
Look here first and compare with retail prices…Now I am always on Poshmark “looking” however, before I buy I always compare with a simple google search to see if the item is over priced. I also, like the item so I can come back to it if I want to purchase it but I also see if anyone else is selling it and what they are selling it for.
Since most of the products are at a discounted rate on Poshmark, I am able to get back out there and find items for myself without breaking the bank. Poshmark helps you to be stylish on a budget…its also great for finding clothing; I’ve found clothes for plus size women from some of the top names in the plus size fashion industry!
My next mission is to sell a few of my own items in the near future…I will come back and let you know how this works for me. After my research I’ve that many earn good income from selling gently used items!
