Yesterday, I took my kids along with my niece and nephew to see “Finding Dory”…years ago when I saw Finding Nemo then having a daughter with special needs, there was always a special place in my heart for the movie. I wanted Emma to see “Finding Dory” because she would get so excited when she saw the advertisements in the store or the movie previews but I knew that she was too young to understand the true meaning of the movie.
Dory is the blue tang fish who suffers from memory loss. The one thing she can remember is that she somehow became separated from her parents as a child. With help from her friends Nemo and Marlin, Dory embarks on an epic adventure to find them.

What I loved about the movie is that Dory NEVER gave up! Which is something that I would love to instill in my daughter Emma! I remember Emma’s speech therapist telling us to use cards with pictures to communicate with her. I thought it was a good idea to learn the words but I didnt want her to rely on them. We used them for practice purposes, and she kept at it even during times when I know she wasn’t “really on it” but now she is saying some of those words on own! You can do anything you really put your heart and mind to! No matter what anyone says, don’t let it stop you!!!
