Hello June! I don’t usually do any particular post for the beginning of the month, however, today I had to get up and get a post up. Today marks the end of the 1st half of the year, and the start of the 2nd half of the year. Coming into this year I knew I was turning 32 in April and for some reason that stuck out to me…I like the number 32!
Last year in June I created a vision list for Darrick and I…it was actually for our family not just the two of us but it had individual goals as well as family goals. Well at the beginning of the year I did a vision board, again many of the things on the board were individual things but some were family goals as well. As I woke up this morning and looked at my board that is hanging on my side of the room…I couldn’t do anything but THANK GOD! Because if it hasnt come to pass its in the works…there is light at the end of this tunnel…
So here is a picture of my Vision for this year…
Blogging…in the bottom right corner it says Blog! My blog is TRULY MY PASSION!!! I love blogging and I’m so glad that in 2008 while sitting in my apartment in Columbus I decided to start this journey! I had NO idea how far it would take not only me but my family as well! I haven’t signed up for a Blogging Conference just yet, still debating on if I want to work on some things here at home first!
Higher Education…when I put this on there I was thinking about finishing my Master’s that was started a few years ago. I think I may have less than a year to finish. Even though that is not out of reach, the Higher Education stands for work! On July 13…I will be headed back into the work force! Prior to becoming a SAHM I worked in Higher Education (I love working on a college campus) so I am headed back next month!
Vacation…the places we originally planned to go to aren’t out of question but we have some new trips planned! We even have a trip planned in July that is free and came from blogging! Isn’t God Good!!!
Curls & Hair…at the end of last year I went through some things with my hair. I believe being on birth control caused one side of my hair to go straight. So I got it cut and put some braids in it, and let it grow for a couple of months. When I took them out my curls are almost 90% back and my hair is nice and thick again!
Organization…last year my cousin and I jumped into “planning”…We started our IG page PlanWithDC-Plan With Dawn & Carissa. Follow us for all things planning! I have always had a love for planners, stationary, ink pens and everything else! So this was perfect for us because we love a lot of the same things!
Health…as always we say that we are going to get our health on track and never do. BUT this year we have made some changes. My mom had gastric bypass surgery and she changed her diet and we did too. I started seeing a nutritionist and she also helped me with starting this journey…it hasn’t been easy and I fall off some days but I try to get back on track the next day! We actually adopted the diet they had her on, but not as extreme and we have seen some changes! Darrick and I also joined the Health and Wellness Ministry at church and the things that we have learned have helped us a great deal!
Ministry…my husband and I started a couples ministry at church. The first couple of meetings were very successful and due to scheduling conflicts we had to take a break but we plan to get back to it in the upcoming weeks.
So as we enter the 2nd half of the year, I am thinking about making another vision board or vision list to stay on track with the goals that I have for the end of the year.
