Last week the school year came to an end for Emma. I was totally the mom in the car crying, not because it was ending but because I was so proud of my big girl! She is so strong and I LOVE it!!! She attends school like a BOSS and recently at a doctor’s appointment I had the chance to see all that she has learned and I couldn’t be more proud of her. She’s headed to Pre-K in the fall! It seems like she is growing up so much!
As we start our first full week of summer break I couldn’t help but think of the goals I have for the kids this summer…
I originally planned for Emma to go to a camp, but then for some reason I changed my mind and planned to keep her home with me, and actually it was a decision that I am 100% comfortable with. I know once she really gets into “grade school” I will probably have her in camps, so this summer I plan to enjoy my time with Emma and DJ. They are at a fun age, and I know some days they will probably drive me crazy but I am happy to be home with them and able to have fun with them.
I think I really want to cherish this time with them because I am slowly getting back into the working world (more on that later) and before I make the jump I would like to enjoy my time with my babies! You only get these moments once; and as I realize that it goes by so fast, I want to completely live in these moments!
So What Are Our Plans for the Summer…
We have a trip planned to Pittsburgh for a couple of days to see some of the sights, as a family!
I plan to work with Emma on some of her fine motor and gross motor skills…so she doesn’t lose the skills that she has learned this year.
Play dates with some of the kids from Emma’s class!
DJ has been showing signs of potty training, so Im going to try to start working with him. And finishing this process with Emma; we are almost there!
I have created a Summer Fun Pinterest Board for ideas to keep my kids busy…if we do at least 2 different activities a week we are doing good!
We also have a trip planned to Columbus Zoo and Waterpark
I think this is it so far…but I would love to add another waterpark or two to our summer plans! Or maybe even another small roadtrip. This isn’t our year for BIG trips so we just make the most of trips that are a few hours away from home!
Let’s Briefly Discuss the Kids Outfits…
As you all know I love coordinating the kids, or flat out dressing them alike! In some way they usually compliment each other, it just has to be this way right now! HA!
So all I have to say is…THE PATCHERY!!! Oh How I LOVE thee…
Emma is wearing the Swing Dress and DJ is wearing the Color Block Short Sleeve Tee!
I made Emma’s dress first and had fun with placing the pattern on it, then I moved to DJ’s shirt, this actually was harder to do than I expected because I couldn’t figure out how I wanted the colors and patterns to go together; I wanted him to match Emma but also mix his patterns up but not over do it. But I couldn’t be more pleased with the final outcome…and we got SO MANY compliments!!! As I stated earlier Emma is actually wearing a dress, when it came it was a little short for her so I paired it with some jeggings and it worked perfectly as a shirt. Actually I think I liked it better as a shirt instead of a dress!
