Its very rare on a Saturday that we are done with everything (running errands, meetings at church) before noon. But this Saturday, only Darrick went to church and I stayed back to help my mom who just had surgery. We stayed around the house for a while and eventually ran to the outlets, but that was a quick trip because it was raining and snowing (yes, its April and it snowed yesterday)…
We were getting ready to go home but I said I wanted some ice cream so we stopped by Mitchell’s Ice Cream! If you have never heard of Mitchell’s Ice Cream…let me give you a little history! Its a staple in Cleveland… and the ice cream is handcrafted in small batches using local grass-fed dairy and fresh seasonal ingredients.
Mitchell’s has 8 locations in and around the City of Cleveland! It was started in 1999 by Mike and Pete. Mike is the Ice Cream Chef and Pete is the taster-in-chief and handle operations.
In fact, earlier this year we celebrated Emma’s 4th Birthday the Solon, OH location of Mitchell’s Ice Cream!
Take a look at some of her pics from the Birthday Celebration…
The staff during the party was EXCELLENT!!! The kids were able to get a scoop of whatever ice cream they wanted and at our personal table there were toppings available for them add to their liking! Mitchell’s also provided decorations…and I brought the cake. However, if you are interested in them providing more than just decorations and ice cream that is another option you could pick! Emma was also given a t-shirt since she was the birthday girl!
However, yesterday we had an impromptu family date at the Ice Cream Parlor!!! The kids were able to sit at the kids table and share ice cream and color! And Darrick and I were able to sit at table right next to them and have grown up talk. It was GREAT!!!
I looked over and this is what I saw…
Emma was feeding DJ ice cream! I had planned to share my ice cream with him, but his big sister had it handled by the time we all sat down and got settled in our seats. You know the ice cream must be delicious if we stopped in the middle of a mini-clipper of snow passing over the city! And actually Mitchell’s was pretty busy!! This was major because not all ice cream parlors stay open year-round in Cleveland…but Mitchell’s does!!! Whoop Whoop!!!
If you are ever in the Cleveland area…and looking for the BEST Ice Cream EVER you have to stop by Mitchell’s Ice Cream!!!! I promise you, you wont regret it!!!
