Thinking back to all of my pictures when I was younger, my mom always had my sister and I dressed alike. From head to toe we were coordinating with each other…my sister and I hated it but look at me now doing the same thing with my children. If we didn’t have on the same outfit, we were color coordinated. Working as an Ambassador for The Patchery, I get a chance to design outfits for my daughter and son that are in the same color collection.
One of the things I looked forward to when we found out we were having identical twins is being able to dress them alike, and make sure Emma had something that matched them. Well everything didn’t pan out the way I planned it but I still have the chance to coordinate
The only time their outfits aren’t coordinating is during the week when Emma has school and DJ is at home.
When I first started exploring the designs on The Patchery, I knew I had to get matching pieces for them. In a previous post I discussed Emma’s Kangaroo Dress (I could buy a million of these dresses in different patterns)…but this time I am talking about DJ’s Lightweight Hoodie.
I personally LOVE hoodies for myself. I don’t buy that many for the kids because they are heavy and hot for the kids with coats. This light weight hoodie is THE BOMB! Its not too thick…he could wear it with some joggers or jeans. This particular picture came from him wearing it to church, and usually I would NEVER let my son wear a hoodie to church (just because I like a dressier shirt for church).
When I designed this shirt I picked the same color pattern as I used for Emma’s dress…the Persephone Palette! Even though I only used two colors from the palette for his hoodie, I was still able to get creative with where I placed the colors. The hoodie is primarily black but the back is green like the stripe on the front of the hoodie.
The Patchery gives me a chance to dress the kids in the same colors and they are matching versus having them both dressed in blue but different shades…I like the fact that I am able to have the same matching colors for both the girl and boy items.
The thing that I love with The Patchery is that they carry lines for girls and boys…and some items are unisex. I couldn’t wait for everyone to see their coordinating outfits. There were a couple of items that are on my list that are unisex items that I loved for both kids.
Do you color coordinate your children’s outfits?
