One of the things that I enjoy with Emma being in school is seeing all of her projects that she completes while in class. Usually the projects are based around a letter, holiday or a book they are reading in class. With Valentine’s Day coming up I expect to see some projects filled with hearts and lots of red and pink! I also love volunteering for her class parties with the other moms, and partnering with them on different ideas for crafts/activities for the kids.
I started searching early for projects, here are a few of my favorites that I found on Pinterest…
In school I always loved making treat bags, boxes or mailboxes for our Valentine’s to go in. I remember in 3rd grade we had to make our own boxes, and a boy in my class came in with a replica of a US Mailbox…it was amazing, it put everyone else’s boxes to shame!
I feel with treat bags the kids can get as creative as they want or you can make a themed bag; like the bags below…
Treat Bags {A Cupcake for the Teacher}
Valentine’s Day Coloring Pages {Makes and Takes}
Valentine’s Tic Tac Toe {Makes and Takes}
Valentine’s Day Matching Game {Creations By Kara}
Conversation Hearts Printable {Free Homeschool Deals}
Musical Hearts {Teach Mama}
Valentine’s Day Coloring Pages {Mrs. Jones Creation Station}
When it comes to holiday projects and crafts, Valentine’s Day is my favorite probably because of the colors. I cant wait to see what we come up with for the kids party at school. I signed up to bring juice, but I may also bring the bags to decorate depending on the crafts that that other moms come up with. I think decorating the bags will give them a chance to use their own creativity.
For Emma at home, I’m going to create some type of project for her to complete at home and maybe we will send it to all of her family members…like Aunts and Uncles. She has some here and some out of town so it would be a good chance to also take her to the post office and learn how to mail a letter. We will see, I guess we need to start working fast if we are going to create something and get it out by Valentine’s Day!
