As part of the Verizon Wireless Midwest Blog Ambassadors, I am assisting in the efforts to spread awareness for Domestic Violence Awareness. Opinions are 100% my own!
Domestic Violence is something that I have never dealt with personally, but it is something that I have heard of happening to men and women. And no matter if I have never experienced it my heart still breaks anytime I hear of a woman or man being abused.
Love is NEVER supposed to hurt…under no circumstances!
What is Verizon’s HOPELINE?
HopeLine helps domestic violence survivors by providing cash grants to help nonprofits fund education, programs and support services, in addition to collecting no-longer-used wireless phones and accessories to support survivors, domestic violence organizations and programs nationwide. Many of these donations are recycled and then turned into cash grants. However, Verizon also donates new phones, complete with voice and text capabilities, to local domestic violence shelters and non-profit organizations and agencies for use by victims and survivors.
Since its launch in 2011, HopeLine has donated nearly 200,000 phones to domestic violence victims and survivors.
Verizon is committed to helping the 1 in 3 women, 1 in 4 men and more than 3 million children in the United States impacted by domestic violence.
We support the efforts of domestic violence organizations and agencies to prevent domestic violence, educate communities on cultivating healthy relationships and empower victims and survivors with resources and tools to rebuild and succeed.
If you donate your old phones please take a pic and tag me on twitter (@greeneyecarissa) and use the hashtag #VZWHopeLine
