You all know I have a SERIOUS love for Football. I love college football and professional football…so I am starting this new series Football Sundays. But it will be girl-talk and football topics! The hashtag for this series will be #PigskinLadies
In the past few years I have noticed more and more women have become football fans. From College Football to NFL Football…more women are into the sport! But let’s face it all women aren’t and somedays even I get football’d out!!! But since Sundays are the only day my husband blocks the television with nothing but football…I can totally take one for the team. I’m even pretty good with Monday Night Football and Thursday Night…its only for a few months until the season is over!
Since I have a love for the game, I am often asked to sit and watch a game with him, football documentaries (which I love by the way) or even Sportscenter. I don’t mind because he usually watches my shows with me…its that whole give and take part of the relationship!

I think this picture is hilarious because so many women feel like this! Well let me share a few tips on how to survive the season and not feel like you are being cheated by your husband with football!

Invite Family or your Favorite Couples Over…you cant go wrong when you invite others over for the game. It can be a “big” game or a random game, have people over will make any game fun! By the time you eat, laugh and debate about the game you are bound to have a good time.
Occupy Yourself…you know those late games, the kids are asleep and he wants to catch that last game (usually the West Coast game), take that time to catch up on thing that interest you. For example, I sit on my laptop next to him on the couch and glance at the game off and on but I also get some blogging done. Sometimes I use this time to do my toes, or plan my week out; many times he just wants you next to him he doesn’t really care if you are watching until a big play happens (then you better look up at the replay)!
Ask Questions…this is a way of showing interest in things he is interested in! Guys love explaining the game, even if you understand the game ask questions!
Wear his Jersey around the House…well this is a trick for trying to get his eyes AWAY from the screen! Once you have had a full day of football, go into his closet and get one of his jerseys put it on and walk pass him like you arent paying attention…I bet you will have someone following you!
Prep yourself for the Week…a lot of times I actually prepare myself for the week while Darrick is watching football because I can have full range of the house because he is glued to the television. I check my calendar, prep blog posts, get the kids clothes together…whatever I can do to get a leg up for the week. Im still present enough if he wants to converse while the game is on but I am also getting things done that I need to get done.
What do you do to survive football season???
