With the second week of school down, we are still finding ourselves trying to find the perfect routine! But I must be honest…by the time Friday comes we are all BEAT! Emma goes to school 4 days a week, so Friday starts our weekend. Our summer routine was pretty relaxed, but once school started back the day for me starts at 5:00am and the first child is up by 6:45am. We usually go all day until dinner and bath-time.
Since I am trying to get us all back on the “school routine” of eating dinner, taking a bath and going to bed at the same time every night…and trying not to buy dinner but making sure we have balanced dinners with veggies daily (Im just as bad as the kids when it comes to veggies) let’s just say I look forward to Friday Nights!
Friday Night is our night that we have a fun meal. Last week we had hamburgers and french fries…this week we endulged in one of our favorites from Walmart! We had an Effortless Meal of Pizza and Coca-Cola…
Have you ever checked out Walmart’s Effortless Meal section?
This sign hanging above the area where you can purchase items to create your effortless meal. This particular sign has the Pizza and Coke, however, there are more options; rotisserie chicken, a side and a coke, or a submarine sandwich. I love a good sub sandwich so this will probably make it into my cart the next time around. They are big enough to eat for two days of lunch. I have also tried the fully cooked chicken meal, thats a great buy for a Sunday when my family is looking for more of a full “traditional” meal. But with anyday that you choose to do one of the “Effortless Meal” its great to have “options” that won’t break the bank, and they are fresh and healthy.
Now onto the Pizza (have I ever mentioned PIZZA is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE FOOD)…
We were introduced to Walmart Pizza at my nieces birthday party! Everyone thought it taste so good and asked where it came from…from that day on we have been a huge fan of their pizza. From time to time we love making our own pizza at home, but when you have had a long week, no one feels like doing the entire process of making pizza from scratch.
So what we do instead is go to Walmart and pick out the pizza flavor that we want. We usually get Pepperoni for the adults and cheese for the kids. Then we buy additional toppings; for our pizza we love adding chicken and banana peppers to the pepperoni pizza. For the cheese pizza the kids love Pineapples as their additional topping. But honestly you have a blank canvas to add whatever toppings you would like…
This combination came from one of our favorite Pizzeria’s…we just recreated it at home! Saves time on waiting for them to make it, and definitely saves money because there is NO PIZZERIA anywhere that you can order an XL Pepperoni Pizza and Coca-Cola for ONLY $7.98…even with our additional toppings I am feeding my entire family on less than $20 for one night!!! WHOOP WHOOP…I call that a MOMMY WIN!!!
By buying our additional toppings this gives us a chance to have the different flavors that we would order if we were ordering the pizza from a restaurant, without the additional cost of toppings!!! I mean you cant beat that!!
Since most times we have this meal its on a Friday evening, we may have something sweet afterwards for dessert…
This time I made a Coca-Cola Float Remix…
My family is VERY big on floats. We make them with all types of ice cream and different flavor soda. When I was younger, on our way “down south” my uncle bought a Coca-Cola and put peanuts in it. He said it was something he learned when he was younger and once in a while he would do it. My sister and I thought this was the greatest, well Im not really sure if we liked idea or the peanuts in our soda. Since it was hot and we had peanuts and ice cream (I know you are thinking Sundae) I was thinking of combining a Float and Sundae…
Add Peanuts to the Bottom of Glass…
Add 2 Scoops of Ice Cream over the Peanuts…
Pour Coca-Cola on Top…
And there you have the Coca-Cola Float Remix!
Do you think you will try Walmart Effortless Meals? How will you pair Marketplace products with Coca-Cola?
