Many times we are so excited about the holidays in itself that we don’t think about how we are going to celebrate until the night before or the day of. Then the big question is “what are we going to bring” because you can’t show up to anyone’s house empty handed. I mean if you can’t cook something at least bring a bottle of wine, for the host to have later after everyone is gone!
I have found a couple of “easy” recipes on Pinterest to make to take over someone’s house if you decide to go at the last minute…or to add to your own menu if you are hosting the party/cookout!
I have different food categories that I stick with when I am cooking for others. I know I can make some mean pasta dishes, dips and desserts. Now I cook everything for my family but if I am taking something to others I try to stick with my “go-to” categories…
So below I have found recipes in each of my 3 categories…
1. Pasta Salad
I chose pasta salad because it doesn’t get any easier than making pasta salad! I found this basic Pasta Salad from Creations by Kara… and you can find a recipe or you can create your own combination. Usually I look up a recipe then I take from that and go on my own!
Try a Patriotic Pasta Salad…colored noodles, how fun!!! And some different ingredient choices!!!
2. Dip/Salsa
OMG…I think this is going to be my “last minute recipe” this 4th of July holiday! Honestly, I LOVE dips/salsa I feel like they add so much fun to the menu. I recently got into making my own salsa, and I know my family would love this Pineapple Black Bean Salsa and chips.
Can you see a pattern! I love Mexican Cuisine…salsa & chips, or some form of Taco Dip, count me in!!! Im here for the Mexican dips! This Taco Dip looks pretty easy to make and would be a hit at any cookout!
3. Sweets
So I LOVE sweets! No I mean I REALLY love sweets! So if I dont make some type of dip I make or bring some type of dessert. Usually its something that looks good to me, or that I really like because I think everyone else will like it too! HA! I mean doesn’t this Strawberry Shortcake Trifle look DELISH!!!
JESUS…
I need this Pineapple Upside Down Cheesecake in my life ASAP!!! I don’t even have the words…I know this has to be muy deliciousa!!!
Now a few of these recipes you would have to plan in advance…like coloring the noodles or refrigerating the cheesecake but they would be a great addition to any menu!!!
Whats on your Menu for the Holiday??
