I have always believed that God sends his Angels to check on his children from time to time…
Yesterday, Darrick and I got a late start and we didnt make it to church. We ended up picking up around the house and then we decided to go out to have lunch with the kids.
In the process of getting ready the kids were all over the place, Douglass is teething so he is EXTRA irritable, I think Emma is going through another jealousy stage again so she is SUPER clingy and whenever Douglass cries she does too (yeah, this is actually my life right now). So needless to say we were worn out before we even walked out the door…
We got in the car and besides the fact that we really needed something to eat, I think Darrick and I could’ve turned around and gone back in the house…and said forget it!
Darrick started suggesting different places and my response was “I dont care, I just need Emma to eat sooner rather than later”… basically I just need somewhere doesn’t have a long wait…
So Darrick picked his old faithful of O’Charley’s…I agreed. Then he said no I have been wanting to go to the Texas Roadhouse…again I said I didnt care, just pick one and go. While on the way its starts pouring down raining (like monsoon style raining…it was horrible) we end up passing the exit on the freeway.
He turned around and we finally made it…I ran inside with Douglass because he sits closest to my door and Darrick brought Emma in when came in…
When I walked in the hostess seated Douglass and I right away, and this lady zones in on us. Again I wasnt on it at all, I was tired and these kids had been giving me the blues since earlier that morning! When we came in Douglass had on a bib that said “I should get a trophy for this mess”…the lady got a kick out of it and smiled when she read it. Me and my attitude said thanks/smiled and didn’t make much conversation…Then Darrick and Emma walk in, so this brought on more conversation from the lady! But by this time I started to relax a little bit.
After they walked in the lady came over to our table and told us that her daughter had just had her 6th child but she almost died with this one. The baby was tangled up in the umbilical cord, but they both are doing well now. You know I immediately felt her pain…and throughout her entire story she was telling us how Good God Is…
She went back to her table for a moment…
By this time you know I am crying…as I am talking to Darrick!
She then came back our table (LOL…I know you are probably thinking will this lady chill) HA! I was thinking the same thing while Im crying like please lady, I cant take anymore today…
But she came back and tells us how she overcame breast cancer when her daughter was 8, then a brain tumor a few years ago, and how her son she had with her currently had a brain tumor, and she had another son who didnt want kids so her daughter was having enough for the entire family, how God told her she would see her grandchildren…but again throughout this story she kept telling us how Good God Is, and how even through her most “trying” times He has been present and still in the blessing business! She was having dinner with her son who she told us currently has a brain tumor…
Darrick and I both agreed and (Im still in tears…yes this is in the middle of a restaurant) then she noticed me crying and I told her I am very familiar with God’s miracles. And we told her about Emma, Darrick II, and DJ and although things didnt go as we planned (God had a plan) and God is Still Good and in the Blessing Business! And how our miracles were sitting at the table with us!
We end up hugging each other and she told us to take care and offered her condolences to us and tells us that we have a beautiful family. When she walked off our waitress comes back and takes our order. When she is finished one of the hostess comes to our table and hands Darrick a giftcard and tells us that the family that was sitting across from us paid for our food….
HALLELUJAH!!!!
Now I am really trying to fight back tears even Darrick was speechless for a moment!
And even as I sit here and type I am fighting back tears…
God sure knows what you need at the perfect time!
She wrote us a note inside the card…
I didn’t get a name or anything…but isn’t this lady the sweetest!!! And I am pretty convinced she was an Angel!
The part that really got us “If He (God) had a refrigerator your picture would be on it”…that part really got us!
Sometimes I feel God sends you confirmation of feelings you may have had or a situation you are dealing with…and sometimes its in the form of Angels!
Thank You Lord!!!
Thank You for Sending this Lady our Way! The dinner was a bonus but her witnessing to us was EVERYTHING!!!!
