Since I had the twins I have been feeling great physically! I tired from the running around but it feels great not to be carrying all that extra weight around. I lost weight immediately and it helps that I do a lot of walking in the hospital, chasing Emma and taking care of a newborn; my weight has been coming off pretty fast! And Im not complaining at all…
My pregnancy weight also came off pretty fast with Emma and I was smaller than I was pre-baby, however, it eventually came back and I really packed on the pounds! This time around I am trying to do things differently and really keep that number on the scale going down!
I haven’t had my 6 week check up yet so I haven’t been cleared to workout…but I have asked my sister who is a personal trainer for some tips to help me enjoy the holiday but not over indulge!
So here are the tips that were given to me…
~Keep snacks on hand and in the car while running errands and shopping during the holiday season. That way you aren’t tempted to buy fast food. Good snacks to have with you-almonds, pistachios, carrots and celery, banana, Greek Yogurt (with the cold temps you don’t have to worry about it spoiling in the car)
~Instead of indulging in ALL of the holiday food which will leave you feeling full and sluggish, pick your top 3-5 foods you absolutely cant resist and have a serving of each. This prevents you from feeling guilty about over indulging.
~Get a great workout in first thing in the morning. It will not only energize you, but it will set the tone for your day.
~If you “get it in” in the morning, you wont want to let it go to waste by eating carelessly. You’re more likely to pay close attention to what you put in your mouth and you can be proud of your ability to practice self control.
