As we enter the month of November…I have seen a TON of Thankful Challenges, Thankful Blog Post, Thankful Quotes. I thought about participating in a couple but I decided to just write from my own perspective to start the month off.
I searched for a couple of thankful quotes…and I found a few I liked but I decided to use this one first. Seems like it summed up life for us right now…there is a lot going on with two new babies and a toddler. Its been a little rough with one being in the hospital and the two other ones at home but through it all there is ALWAYS something to be thankful for!
So to start off the month I want to share my list of things
I am thankful for (no specific order)…
~New Additions to the Family…this goes without saying! I birthed TWINS…yeah I’m a badass! LOL!!! Okay back to reality…no seriously sometimes I sit and look at them an think WOW…Thank You Lord for picking me!!! Although Darrick is in the hospital and Douglass is home, I am so thankful that I carried twins to term! They came with a few surprises, and its been a long two weeks-and we have a long road ahead of us but I’m Thankful for them!
~Little Miss Emma…well we are very thankful for the new developments with her speech and overall development. In the past two weeks she has kept us on our toes more than she ever has…which has been a blessing but also ummmm tiring! LOL! Im thankful that she loves her brother…not sure she understands she has two brothers but Im sure once Darrick is home she will love him too! HA! I love her protectiveness of him!
~My Husband…God sure knew what He was doing when he brought us to each other! Crazy how we grew up in church together; and we both were ready to give up on finding love and we were right under each others nose! LOL! We would actually speak to each other every Sunday and have small talk…who knew?!?!?!
~My Sister…My 2nd Momma! She doesn’t know it but she has been just what I needed on the days I needed her! She kept Emma while I went into the hospital and I didn’t have to worry about a thing! She called at random times of day and night to check on us; and always had the right thing to say at the perfect time!
~My Parents…I cant say enough good things about these two! They come through for everyone; My Husband, My Sister, My Brother in Law, and myself…oh and the kids! They are Ahhhhhmazing in so many ways! A lot of people will ask tell you if you need something let me know; but when they say that they truly mean it! When it comes to the family they come with their sleeves rolled up and ready to jump in wherever they are needed! Im sure I can speak on behalf of all of us when I say…we are all truly thankful for EVERYTHING they do!
~Instagram Photo Challenges…these keep me busy when I am trying to keep my mind off the heavy stuff! I look at all the pictures in the #BloggersGetSocial photo challenge…also has been a great way to network with other bloggers
~NICU Nurses…Oh man these ladies (I’m only saying ladies because all of Darrick nurses have been women) are the BEST! I believe these ladies are really angels in scrubs…and even though I would love to bring my baby home I am blessed in knowing that he is in good care while we are away from each other!
One nurse even took the time to put Darrick’s footprints on a Halloween Sign, Wind-chime, Easel and Canvas that we can add his brothers footprints to! It was so nice to walk into the room and get presents from our little one!
~Losing Weight…last time I checked I was down 30lbs! I would love to say I exercised and ate right and the weight came off but it didnt work like that. I had two babies and got rid of A LOT of water weight and now Im down. But I plan to keep going…Im more motivated now than EVER, I have to be healthy for my family! I love the fact that I can walk and not be out of breath, or run up the steps and keep going and not get dizzy (yes, this happened when I moved too fast while pregnant)!
~Darrick’s Recent Report…I started writing this then I had to add this to the list. Darrick’s doctor said he is doing Awesome!!! He has been taken off his heart medication and the oscillator machine and put him on a smaller breathing machine. The xray from earlier shows both his lungs are working…one lung is a full lung and the damaged one is working and he hasn’t even had surgery yet!!! To God be the Glory!!!!
~Conversation with a Friend today about some of my blogging goals and goals in general. Sometimes you need a girlfriend to tell you to get out of your own way and hold you accountable, so you can reach some of your personal goals! She is currently reaching for the stars and wants me to do the same! Its always good to have a bestfriend that has the best intentions for you…where you both can share life goals with and bounce ideas off of each other!
Sometimes its good to have friends to get you together!
Honestly…I could go on and on about how THANKFUL/GRATEFUL I am! But Im going to stop the list right here! Im so full from hearing the report from the doctors about our son…I cant wait until he is home and our little family is complete! Going through all of this with Darrick II makes you think about everything in life and how thankful I am for everything!!
