As part of keeping my resolutions this year I am participating in the Blog Forward 2014 Challenge by Zone Perfect.
The Blog Forward 2014 Challenge is partnering up with Bloggers in 2014 to help keep them on track towards their goals for the year!
I have a few goals for the year but my top priority is my health. As many of you have read in the month of December I experienced a miscarriage. Although there is no explanations as to why I experienced this, I decided that I would be a lot healthier the next time that I got pregnant. When I had my daughter I was a lot smaller than I am now. I wasn’t at my healthiest weight, but I also didn’t have to have a conversation with my doctor about weight when I found out I was pregnant. And I was not in danger of having gestational diabetes…which is something that I had to have a conversation with my doctor about as a result of my current weight!
Also in the month of December I had an uncle that experienced some health issues as a result of high blood pressure.
With all these events going on, one thing kept playing in my mind and that is to get my health in order. I am too young to be at the weight I am and to be as unhealthy as I am. I mean I do pretty good with eating, but my portions are OUT OF CONTROL! And my sweets intake is crazy…what can I say I love sweets! But that is something that I have to change for 2014!
So lets just say this time I am on a mission…I want more children and I want to be healthy for my family!
My Resolution…
Lose Weight
Make Better Food and Nutrition Choices
As part of this challenge I am required to write a letter to myself to keep myself on track…
Dear Carissa,
You are doing a great job at sticking to your goal. Just like you stuck to your goal of finishing school a couple of years ago, you have to stick to this goal as well. I know from time to time its going to get hard but you can do it. Tell that little voice in your head that is telling you to give up, to SHUT UP! Give yourself a couple of times to cheat but after that is out of your system you need to continue with what you started…remember you arent doing only doing this for yourself, you are doing it for your family! Darrick and Emma need you around for a long time, so you have to take care of yourself so you will be around to take care of them!
Love,
Carissa
PS. You can do it!
Remember: You can do all things through Christ, who strengthens you!
So we are doing this as a family to keep each other motivated!
Here are tips on taking it one day at a time!
Tips to help you and your family…its been proven that if you do it as a family it not makes it easier but you also will have a great time! I mean I always have fun with my family whenever we are together so this is no different…we are going to slim down together!!!
You don’t have to make one drastic change all at once, but you can make small changes and that will help a lot! For example, my problem is portion control so I am eating out of smaller bowls and plates to help my portion control!
