Happy Friday!!!
This week I am linking up with Tiffany also known as “Mrs. Tee” from Mrs. Tee Love Life Laughter . I love her blog and I have never seen a blogger that has made so many genuine connections so fast! She is literally the Queen of hosting blog hops and participating in them…along with writing her own content!
Here are the questions Mrs Tee had for me…
1. So, I noticed that your graphics include an awesome pair of pumps with a unique sole…I recently discovered my LOVE this brown toned neutral animal print but have lately been really confused by which print is leopard vs. cheetah. Do you know how to tell the difference? Please share…
I had to do a little bit of research for this question! I knew there was a difference but since I am up at the wee hours of the morning doing these questions I couldnt call my nephew. We call him Dr. DoLittle because he LOVES animals and can tell you all the random facts about them!
So I looked it up…
“Cheetahs have solid black round/oval spots and black “tear lines” that run from the corner of their eyes down the sides of their nose to their mouth (the lines keep sunlight out of the cheetahs’ eyes while hunting). Leopards have more complex spotting pattern of clusters of black and brown spots which look like roses, called rosettes. This pattern simulates shifting plants and shadows, providing camoflage as the leopards stalk their prey from tall grass and underbrush.”
Interesting!!! This concludes the science/fashion lesson for the day! LOL!!!
2. Which print to you personally prefer…leopard or cheetah?
I like both and I think I own both but I think I am actually a “Cheetah Girl” at heart! 🙂
3. You are a football fan, I know absolutely nothing of the sport. What’s the easiest way to talk a novice like myself through a game?
I would let you watch and ask questions…I still ask lots of questions when the game is on. I realize that as much as men are into the game, they LOVE questions. I guess that is because you seem interested! LOL! So watch and see what you can understand, then what you dont understand ask questions. And also listen to the person who is calling the game because they are really explaining everything as it goes.
4. You say that you and your Hubby grew up in church together, how/when did you know that you were becoming more than childhood friends?
We look super young here…we had been dating for about 4 months on this picture!
Well this is crazy but years ago when I was in college in Columbus my sister called me one day and said she had a dream that I married Darrick from church. So ever since that dream she had been trying to hook me up on the sly…she talked to his brother, she made me go hug him after church service (crazy right), she even had my mom in on this…my mom talked to him about what he did for a living and stuff!
So once I moved back home I told my sister Darrick congratulated me on graduating from College. And of course she wanted me to throw my number at him then but it didn’t happen! LOL! Then one day in true facebook stalker form, I searched for him and he was on there…he had actually just joined like the day before LOL! I told my sister this information and we came up with this brilliant plan for her to friend him then she would refer me as a friend he should friend (FB lingo)…but of course we messed up the plan! We were under my name and not hers so I ended up sending the request. Then the next night he sent me a message because looked through my profile found my blog link and read my blog. We talked for a couple days online then it turned into phone conversation, then we went on our first date and we’ve been together ever since.
And now that I just typed all the out…my sister and I are hilarious!! It would take us to mess up a plan and it ended up being the best thing ever! LOL!
5. Your daughter is beautiful! her name, Emma, is very much that of an older generation…
how did you choose it?
Thank You!!!
Emma’s full name is Emma Renee…Darrick’s mom is deceased and he wanted her name in there some way as a first name or middle name, Emma is also my great-grandmother (on my moms side) name. We decided it would be her first name…then we went through a bunch of middle names and he kept saying use Renee (my mom’s name)…so after we told my mom it was a wrap she was excited and told the world. She is named after her grandmothers!
6. You say that your Blog began as a fashion focused one. What is your favorite go to fashion staple?
Since having Emma I would say my style has changed to cute but comfortable look. I think I am still trying to find my way and she is almost 2! So I love skinny jeans because they can be dressed up or dressed down. And I love leggings because they are so comfortable. I just don’t EVER want to be that frumpy dressed mom!
7. On a cold day would you prefer a comfy pair of sweat or a warm sweater?
With the temperatures being in the negatives around here lately…I have worn more sweat pants, and sweat shirts! I cant wait to get out of these and put on something a little more girly! I have a couple of Gap sweatsuits (the sweatshirt, and sweatpants) so thats what I am living in now because they are thicker than your average yoga pants.
8. What is your favorite place to relax and take a bit of Carissa time?
Hmmm I haven’t done this in so long…I would say when I have time to be on the computer and not disturbed. So if I am blogging or just on here and I can do that for hours on end…and relax! I also like getting my nails done, or shopping. My mom, sister, and I used to leave the kids at home and go to the mall, we haven’t done that in a LONG time but that would really give me a chance to be “Carissa” for a couple of hours. We could just walk around and not buy anything and I’m happy! Or going out to dinner with girlfriends…Oh and I used to go to a Moms Bible Study (I have to get back to going)…
9. Name your favorite TV, Book or other form of entertainment…
I’m a reality show junkie…so I love watching reality shows. So I love Bravo Network and HGTV. If magazines count as books, I read a TON! HA! Since I am in school I haven’t read a book for leisure in a while, but I do like reading when its not school related! Sometimes I read celebrity gossip sites…then discuss them with my best-friend (we have full conversations like we know the people)!
10. My Signature Question: Are you a part of Team Tea or the Coffee Crew?
Well I am Team Orange Juice! LOL! I drink Orange Juice in the morning…I have to have it!
If I drink a hot drink it would probably be tea, I LOVE this Pomegranate Tea that our grocery store sells (its the grocery store brand). I don’t really drink coffee…every once in a while I will try one of the specialty drinks but I prefer my drinks to be COLD! But I drink my cold drinks out of a coffee mug…
Don’t forget to stop by MrsTee blog and show her some love!!!
