As many of you know my daughter was born with a Cleft Lip/Palate, and I have talked about all the appointments that we go to get it repaired! Well everything with Emma was covered under our insurance, however, there are MANY children born with a Cleft Lip/Palate that dont have insurance to cover all of their operations…
This is where Operation Smile comes in…
Operation Smile and its more than 5,000 medical volunteers are work every day around the world to provide safe, effective and free cleft lip and cleft palate reconstructive surgery for children all over the world. We are an international medical humanitarian organization that works in over 60 countries that is dedicated to raising awareness of facial deformities.
Personally, this hits close to home with me and I think its a GREAT IDEA! Knowing firsthand how much these surgeries cost, and all the cost associated with having a Cleft Lip/Palate I wish I could rent my textbooks to donate to the cause!
