This is the only picture I took yesterday…and this was after the playdate, and being caught in the rain! I did dress us alike…LOL! YES! I am that mom! Two days in a row of dressing us alike…or in the same colors! If you follow me on Instagram, you saw my pictures from the weekend!
The play-date went very well! It was about 7-10 moms from my Moms Bible Study Group and about 13-15 children! I hope I am counting everyone! The host of the Mommy Play-date has a huge home and the kids enjoyed themselves! Emma was very happy to play with the other children, and eat! LOL!! When it was time to eat she tore the food up! Probably because she played around with her breakfast prior to going and she was hungry! The play-date was only two hours but it seemed like much longer, I got a chance to sit and talk to other moms and watch the kids play…and I mean they went HARD playing! I’m sure everyone went right to sleep after they left…car naps were probably in full effect!!!
After the play-date I met up with Darrick because he took a few days off work! I was telling him about the day and how glad I am that I am apart of this group. I learn so much being around other moms that are my age, and that are stay at home moms like myself! I was talking to a couple of ladies yesterday and listening to them talk about having “quiet time”…now I have time in the morning or at night after Emma is sleep to get whatever I need to get done.
Many times this is what my “quiet time” looks like…
But other times I am running around the house getting stuff done that I didn’t get done during the day…such as washing dishes, cleaning up the front rooms, cleaning up other parts of the house (I need to pay someone to clean my closet) and various other things!
But do you just schedule time to be quiet and do the things for yourself?
Listening to other moms this is time that I need to schedule daily! And during this time only spend time doing the things Carissa would like to do. Don’t make this time about anyone but myself! I guess since I do have this time I need to be more strict with myself to keep it strictly to myself and not focus on the house, child or husband!
I have a list of things I would like to do more often…
~read devotionals (I do this but it usually on the go)…spend time with God (just me and Him)
~paint my nails and toes more often
~blog and grow my blog more (have post ready for everyday)
~read more blogs and post comments
~just sit back and watch TV and not think about anything serious
Now I know I cant get these things done daily but if I could get them done at least once a day I would be good!!!
So what do you think…schedule “quiet time”? Do you already have a “quiet time”?
If so…how long is it? And what time of day do you have your “quiet time”??
