All thoughts and opinions are my own, I am so excited to have this opportunity to tell my story as part of this sponsored campaign from Bedsider.org
What’s in Your Bedside Drawer???
As many of you know (because I have blogged about it before) that I do not ovulate on my own and this is the reason at the age of 16 I was put on birth control . Fast forward to dating Darrick (my husband), I was still on the pill throughout our courtship period, but I had been messing up, didn’t get a period but didn’t think anything of it because that’s how my cycle was (I could go months at a time without a cycle). I went to the doctors for my yearly appointment and found out I was pregnant, when I found out I was pregnant I was in the middle of planning my wedding. Which means that I messed up on my pills and gotten pregnant…
Looking back on this time, although my Emma is the BEST thing that has happened to us it made me refocus and get it together with taking my birth control! I am currently taking birth control to hopefully get my system to ovulate correctly, and I am taking it to make sure my husband and I plan correctly for baby #2. Although we say we are ready to have another baby, there are still a few things that we would like to take care prior to having another. So it gives us basically a chance to plan for #2.
Throughout my experience with Birth Control I have only tried the pills. I considered the IUD after having Emma but at the time my insurance didn’t cover it and it was VERY expensive! So I have tried a couple of brands, and what I found that works is being on a low dosage pill, and this is because the other ones have me feeling crazy! LOL…I’m laughing but I am so serious!
What I have found in taking Birth Control is really researching what method is best for you, down to the brand that is the best for you. This is often a topic that I talk to other women about because we compare to see if someone is using a method that would be good for someone else…
Bedsider.org is a site that helps women make these decisions from finding the best method to helping you set reminders if you are using a method that needs to be taken daily…

With taking pills, the hardest thing for me to do is remember taking them daily, check out the link below at the link to help you set up reminders (this works great)!!!
