And no I am not talking about the reality show…although I just love Rosie Pope
So I know if you have been watching the news, or keeping up on your celeb gossip you have read about Kate Middleton getting her heel stuck in a Grate during the St. Patrick’s Day Parade…if you havent heard go here…
Yesterday morning Good Morning America did a segment on Kate Middleton and other pregnant celebs and the wearing heels while pregnant. Now I love a good heel, and I mean a good high heel…but I did have to give them up during my pregnancy. The segment that was on earlier basically said to listen to your body, if you feel okay to wear them go for it but know that you are doing yourself more harm than good if you are wearing them all the time…

**These pics are old…but you get what I am saying**
Now I completely understand if you are going somewhere special and you want to put on a cute pair of shoes. After all you do get to that point in the pregnancy where you just want to feel pretty and if a pair of shoes will do it I say go for it!
But for those that feel “just because I am pregnant doesn’t mean I’m giving up my shoes” come on now…(let’s be real) even Beyonce while pregnant wore tennis shoes and flat shoes, because after all no matter how big of a celebrity you are you are still human and your feet hurt while you are pregnant.
A lot of women (including myself) feet changed while pregnant…some go up a size, or size and a half, stayed swollen the entire time. When I was pregnant with Emma I had to go buy a NEW pair of tennis shoes to wear because the ones I owned hurt my feet, now those shoes are in mint condition but they are stretched to the pregnant foot, which was larger than my normal foot! LOL! And I mean now there are so many cute flats out because they are in style now…you can still be cute while you are pregnant in flats, there are even special occasion flats available! Rosie Pope from Pregnant in Heels suggested if you have to wear heels, try wedges because they have more of a sole to balance on (good idea…I wore wedges to work a lot while pregnant)!
The doctor from the segment said they aren’t 100% bad for you but towards the end of the pregnancy you NEED to give them up. You don’t need to be 7-9 months pregnant and wearing heels at that time because after all even if your foot is comfortable in the shoe you have a BIG BELLY bump by this time and falling is SERIOUS! Falling in general while pregnant is serious, but really serious if you go down in the latter part of your pregnancy!
So what do you think…Are Heels a GO during Pregnancy?
Or are the good for special occasions just not everyday??
