As the weather cools down, and the holiday season approaches, those who would normally be single find themselves desiring to be “cuffed” or involved in a relationship. Share your tips on “surviving” (i.e. resisting the social pressure to pair up) or “winning” (finding a special someone) during the holidays.
Thinking back to my single days, going through the Holiday season always had its awkward times (or should I say its ups and downs)! There is always that one family member that asks you where your boyfriend is or why are you still single (ohh how we ALL hate that question)!
Tips on surviving the Holidays while Single…
*Spoil yourself with gifts! I used to buy myself all kinds of gifts and put them under the tree (shhhhh I used to wrap some of them too)
*Meet up with friends once all your family members leave that in your age group
*Enjoy Yourself-if that’s staying up late, go see the Christmas lights with a friend, go out, sleeping late, shop till you drop, watch holiday movies and crying, sitting up pigging out on junk food, buying yourself the most expensive gift ever…DO IT…and Have Fun!
*DON’T drunk dial or text any exes
When you are single you always think the holidays will be so much easier, if I had someone to share them with. However, during the holidays your relationship can also take some hits because you are always on the go and out of your normal hookup…below are a few tips for surviving the holidays if you are in a relationship!
Tips on Surviving the Holidays while in a Relationship…
*Set a budget for gifts (this is to make sure gifts are equivalent…and to make sure one person doesn’t buy something super expensive and doesn’t get the same in return
*Take time just to be with each other-break away from the parties and festivities to focus on each other
*Newly Married couples (take time to start your own traditions)-this one can be hard if you have strong family traditions…but it can be done!
Keep AZO handy during cuffing season! You wouldn’t want a UTI to ruin your new relationship, or get in the way of your fun single life, during the winter months.
